MUTABILITY OF EARTHLY THINGS.
Sir, —In Politics as well as in Poetry, a change will come o’er the spirit of one’s, dreams—at least it appears so from the fate 'of the Ka’i; koura and Canterbury Annexation-Bill, and i|s gentle “parient ” Mr Ingles, the hard-working whip of the Stafford party. Before Mr Curbs acceded to office in the Ministry the cur-taking of Nelson was right enough, but Mr Ingles lias discovered — * ' That Curtis now has gob an oar And helps the boat to row, So he chucks Kaikoura overboard, And lets Amuri go. —lt still remains to be seen what the Marlborough Government will do with this recreant member of the Executive.—l am, &c., Memos u. ■Wellington, Sept. 21.
