Scott, out of a well-known Van Dieman’s Land mare, which gained many first-class prizes. “ Old Stirlingshire Jock ” was allowed to he one of the finest Clydesdale horses of his day. “ Stirlingshire Jock ” was imported into Nelson by Mr Locke, in 1867, and stood the season there successfully, and was purchased by his present owners the following year. “ Stirlingshiie Jock ”is a beautiful dark chesnut rising eight years old, and stands 16 hands high ; is of excellent temper, large muscular power, and a good worker; has proved himself a sure . foal-getter, and his Stock can be seen at Moorlands Farm, Spring Creek.
