MARLBOROUGH LODGE OF UNANIMITY, No. 1236, E.C.

The Annual Festival of St. John was celebi’ated by the brethren on Tuesday last. In the early part of the evening the Installation ceremony took place, when the following officers were duly appointed : Bro. Kissling Ire-elected) W.M. j Bro. Douslin, P.M. ; Bro. M. Alexander, S.W.j Bro. J. Bagge, J.W. ; Bro. J. B. Wemyss, Treasurer (re-elected) ; Bi'o. C. J. W. Griffiths, Secretary ; Bro. F. J. Carey, Organist, (re-elected) • Bro, W. Nosworthy, S.D. ; Bro. Samuel Johnson, J.D. ; Bro. John Taylor, I.G. ; Bro. W. Compton, Tyler (re-elected). The Installing Master was Bro. W. B. Earll, P.M. Later, the brethren dined together in the supper room of the Masonic Hotel, when the chair was taken by the W.M., supported by the S.D., and the vice chair by the S.W., supported by the J.D. ; the usual Masonic toasts were given, and responded to by various brethren, interspersed with songs, &c. Of course our readers will not expect from us any notes of the speeches, which were doubly interesting from the prominency taken by Masonry throughout the civilised world during the last few months, especially in connection with the unhappy war now raging in Europe ; and the fact that although the Marlborough Lodge has only been in existence about fourteen months, the lodge room is already too small for all the members to seat themselves, and considerable inconvenience to those present resulted.
