IT is proposed to form a Company under the above name, with the above capital and limited liability of shareholders, for the purposes ot inarml'a-Turing Tweeds and other Cloths from Wool, and Hopes, Cordage, Wool-bales, Sacking, and other fabrics from Flax and Tow, and to he registered under the Companies Acts of 1860, 1862, and 1868, and the Joint Stock Companies Amendment Act, 1869, or some of them. Water, if obtainable in sufficient quantity, will he used as a motive power, hut the proposed capital is from careful calculations believed to be amply sufficient to provide all necessary steam machinery, if lla power is preferred, besides providing all the required appliances for conducting the proposed operations. The promoters feel justified in believing that the manufacture of the articles above mentioned can be profitably pursued in the Province of Marlborough, and they have arrived at this belief for the following reasons ; Ist. That woollen manufacture, where conducted under sound management, and

nth sufficient capital, either in England, Australia, or New Zealand, has proved high!y remunera f ive, and that with respect 0 this branch of industry, the Province of llarlboiough is at least as favourably situited as Australia, or any place in New lealand where the woollen manufacture las been • established, besides possessing rith those places great advantages over the lome country with regard to the possession 1 the raw material and the. avoidance of lie great expense attending its shipment, ile, its importation as manufactured goods, ad the duty payable thereon. 2. As regards Flax manufacture, this 'rovince has many advantages from its ipability tf producing the raw material i unlimited quantities, and of a quality iferior to none grown in the Colony. Beyond the certainty of the proposed lanufactures being profitable investments f capital, they will be highly beneficial dhe Province, and afford a steady source ’employment for its working population. On 3000 shares being subscribed, a ineral meeting of the shareholders will be lied, at which, a Memorandum and Articles Association will be submitted for signals and approval, Permanent Officers seted, and the Company forthwith thereler legally registered.
