Commercial.

Express Office, Blenheim, March 25th. In the corn market we cannot report any disposition on the part of purchasers to operate, even at correspondingly low rates to those ruling in other provinces. Prime samples of wheat may be quoted at 4s. ; barley, 4s. 6d. to ss. ; and oats, 2s. 6d. to 3s. ; but even at those prices we have not heard of any transactions of note taking place. Considering the high price of labor in this district, we cannot see that farmers are able to grow crops unless prices take an upward tendency. Ordinary unskilled labor cannot be had here under 255. per week, with rations ; whilst we understand there are hundreds of men walking about Auckland and Shorthand unable to get employment, and who we are sure would do well to come to this district, where a large number could find constant and profitable employment, either on farms, stations, or at the many flax mills now at work. Messrs. Nath. Edwards and Co. report having sold by auction, on the 19th instant, twenty-six bales wool landed from the wreck of the Hera at prices varying from £3 3s. to £l2 12s. (giving an average of £7,) per bale ; and on the 24th the cargo in the wreck for £BSO, the hull for £6lO, and the portions of rigging, sails, &c., realised £229. .
