Stafford's final amendment last night was negatived on a division by 32 to 29. Vogel moves for leave to introduce a hill for union of Marlborough with Nelson on Tuesday.

The Province is to receive all Customs Duties collected in the Province during the present financial year, less expenses of Colonial Departments provincially charged. (From another Correspondent.) Wellington, Friday, 2 p.m. Last night Mr. Vogel announced that as union of Nelson to Marlborough seemed distasteful to both, the Government would not press the matter, but allow Marlborough for the present year to have her whole Customs Revenue. £3OOO would be placed on the Estimates to allow Government to repay Marlborough monthly half belonging Consolidated Fund.
