MATAURA HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY.

A meeting ot the General Committee of the Mat-aura. Horticultural and Industrial Exhibit Society was held in the Coronation Ha-ll last night when there were present Messrs .1. Donald (president), E. J. Sherwood, J. Cargill, J. Broome, R. Brown, W. Watt. F, W. Mrown, Mesdames J. Donald. A. J, Grant and Miss Sutton.

The following committees were appointed :—Pot plants and cut doners. .Mesdanies W. P. Thorn. A. Dickie. Miss Barrett, .Messrs H. Winning and A. Balneaves (convener); truit and vegetables. Messrs W. Watt, W. Nixon. R. Brown and J. L. Mitchell (convener); jams, jellies and miscellaneous, Me.-s----dames Brown, Thorn, Grant, Miss Adam and Mr Sherwood (convener) ; dairy and farm produce, Messrs W, Waif, C-ock-hurn, W. Pryde and .James Mitchell (convener) ; allotting committee. Mesdames Thorn, 'Grain. Miss Barrett, M essr,> A. Balneaves, J. Broome, W. Pivclo. K. .1. Sherwood. .1. Donald, W. P. Thorn, R. Winning. A.
