" DADDY LONGLEGS."
The dramatised version of Jean Webster’s charming book, “Daddy Longlegs,” was presented at the Princess Theatre last evening *by the Daddy Longlegs Company" to a full house. The book was bright, breezy and amusing, and the play preserves the same characteristics in a marked degree. The. part, of Judy Abbot, the talented and vivacious orphan, was taken by Aliss Mafiel Hargrove, who capably" interpreted the evolution of the kitchen drudge to the young lady- of the college- while Air J. B. North as Jervis Pendleton gave a convincing representation of - that character’s development from a retiring guardian to a devoted lover. The playwright has invested the part of Jimmie Mcßride, the dressy young collegian, with a large amount of humor, which was made the most of by Air Herb Nicholson, while the other parts were realistically portrayed.
