SUICIDE BY HANGING.

(Per United Press Association") CHRISTCHURCH, Feb. 25. John Truman, a retired farmer in comfortable circumstances, was found banging in a shed at Spreydon yesterday. Deceased left a letter stating that he was determined 1o do away wjth himself, that it would probably be thought ho was mad, but he was hot mad. He was suffering from sciatica and beliey;ng that lie was permanently disabled he did not desire to become a burden upon bis children. Toe writer added information stating where his body would bo found. At the inquest a verdict was returned to the effect "1 hat deceased committed suicide by flanging himself while of unsound mind.
