FIRE AT GORE.
MOTOR GARAGE DESTROYED. A fire broke out shortly before 2 p.m. to-day in .Walders and Co.'s motor garage in Ordsal Street. „_ The workmen were busy iu thegarage during tho morning and had not returned from,dinner when the fire/broke out. , The workmen in McEwan's smithy were the first to notice the outbreak by smoke coming into their own' building, which is adjoining. . The garage, which" was built of voo&. and iron, was completely destroyed, in addition to a motor-car (Mr W. Baker*?) and some half-dozen motor-cycles belonging to A'arious owners.
The amount of insurance was not ascertainable as wo went to press. The gable end of Mr smith* .car, slightly dajnaged, but the fire brigade prevented damage to-the Theatre Royal which is only about 3ft fromxhe garage. <
