Tt is surmised that he succeeded in making his way to the, wall and climbing oyer, i Mis absence was not immediately noticed 1 and in( 111 irios disclosed the fact that he < was seen at Brooklyn. A party ol police and detectives has been despatched to r try and trace the runaway, and the I country between Terawhiti and Brooklyn is being scoured. I It appears that the man was aide to change his police garb soon after leaving the prison. How this was acconiolished is not known but it is rumored that he stuck' up a man and forced him to part with his coat. *The convict up to the present is still at large,
