RECRUITS BEFORE WIFE.
A good story is told by the Llanelly registrar ofi marriages' of a wedding, which took place a few days ago. A private in a regiment now training in a Welsh town returned home for Ins wedding. When the bride and hricle-groom-to-he entered the registrar s. 'Office, the soldier asked that th© e ~ mouy. might he postponed for 10 minutes. The registrar thought it a very unusual request. ■ ' r , “Well,” said the ' bridegroom, I. have just met a few old pals outside, and 1 want to tell them- that their King and country need them/” Iho registrar readily " consented with the assurance, “I’ll wait half an hour u you like, and hope yon will induce •them to enlist.” ,* The soldier rushed put oh the office and, overtaking his friends, persuaded them to accompany him to the .-recruitin o' offices at the local drill hall. _ '\\hon ho returned to his "-intended- -findeMns face was beaming with smiles. “Now I’m ready to be -married,” he told the registrar," and the . ceremony was duly performed. -
