CORE STOCK SALE. There was a very 1 small yarding of both sheep and cattle at the ‘Gore Corporation Yards torday. The recent spell of bad weather no doubt accounted for this, together with the difaculty of driving stock to market over the snow-clad roads'. Only about a . dozen pens of sheep 'all told were entered and about half of these were classed as fat, but witty the exception of one pen of /wethers and one of ewes the quality, was below fair. Owing to the short supplies prices were well maintained throughout. . Of the store sheep four pens wore store lambs, and -these sold at satisfactory, prices to the. vendors. There were only half a dozen head of fat cattle and, a couple peps of store steers and heifers ami a couple of dry cows forward. The following sales were effected:— National Mortgage and Agency Co., Ltd.: Sheep—2o fat wethers 1/s, 20 fat ewes 16s 3d, 24 do. 17 s, 2S do. 13s G<l,. 60 m.s. lambs 14s lOd. Passed in : 22 fat ewes 9s f>d. Cattle ; The firm also fiold a fat heifer at £8 and fat cow £8 7s Cd. Passed in: Pry cow £3 16s.‘ Wright, Stephenson and Co., Ltd.: Sheep—7 fat. ewes 15s-. Id, 85 store owes 10s Bd, 6 store wethers 10s Id.
