SHIP'S CAPTAIN ATTACKED. BY ELBtOTBIO TELEGRAPH COPYRIGHT, PER DNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION VANCOUVER, July 18. The Immigration Department ordered the captain of the Komagala Maru to leave the harhor with the *lindit passengers in order to carry out the deportation. It was endeavored to raise steam on the vessel, hut the Hindus attacked the captain with_ clubs and forced him to leave the ship. The owners' agents have warned the Hindus that they will bring the police aboard, conduct them outside the threemile limit and leave 'them to starve or find their way home. The Hindus have defied the authorities and are refusing to leave Canadian waters until their passage monev is refunded. A supply of provisions has been granted, but the deadlock continues. BEAT OFF THE POLICE. VANCOUVER, July ]S. The Hindus' aboard the Komagata iM.aru beat off 200 police and immigration officials when they endeavored to •tow the Komagata Maru to sea.. Several police were wounded, and one of the Hindus' was shot, but it- is not known .if the wound was fatal. MUCH FEELING ROUSED. MILITIA TO BE"EMPLOYED. Received Julv 20, 11.30 a.m. VANCOUVER. July 19. There is much feeling against the Hindus as the result of the riotous affray wherein a force of police and immigration officials was beaten hack when attempting to compel the Komagata to leave the harhor.
