Alsweller will also attend the conference on behalf of the New Zealand Timber Workers' Federation. Both will also attend the Unity Congress, to be held about the same time as the conference, and Mr O'Byrne will act on the congress as representative of the Southland cheeseworkera. The funeral of Mr Archibald Campbell, * who was fatally injured on the wharf at Timaru on Thursday, topk place at Tiniara yesterday afternoon (states a Press telegram). All shipping work was suspended, and the following was one of the largest ever seen in the town. Esther young, which, occurred at her son's residence, Crombie Street, Gore, yesterday. The late Mrs Young, who was- 80 years of age, was born in Gloucestershire, England, in fwe. yearj 1834 and came to New Zealand in' tjie? year 1876 in the ship Lady Joceryn? landing at Port Chalmers. She settled with her husband at Goodwood, near Palmerston South, and afterwards rev moved to Dunedin. The deceased is survived by her husband (Mr W. F.
