RIFLE-SHOOTING. TAPAN'TJI DEFENCE W#UB. ; On Saturday last a match was fired fcietween teams from Edievale and Tapnui, Jiine men a-side competing (writes our Tapanui correspondent). The distances were 200 and 500 yards. The day was not altogether favorable for big scores, the atmosphere being hazy and dull, which caused, had, sighting, but still good scores were made. The Tapanui team proved victorious by 71 points. The following are the scores:
