BLES.HOP TUCKER. BT ■XWJTBJO TELEGRAPH COPTBIbHT. PEBJ UNITED PBESB ASSOCIATION-. LONDON, June 16. Rigbf Rev. Alfred R. Tucker, D.D., was BeJzecTwith a sudden illness in the cloisters of Westminster Abbey yeserday, and died in the deanery. Dr. Tucker was born in 1849, so that he was 65 years of age. He was ordained in 1882, and ac.od as curate up till 1890, in which year he was appoint ed Bishop of Equatorial Africa fMombasa), in which capacity he acted till 1899, when he was appointed Bishop of Uganda. He resfgneo, from the latter See in 1911. MR A. C. STEEL. , LONDON, June 16. The death is announced of Mr Allan G. Steel, the well-known cricketer. Mr Allan Gibson Steel was born in September, 1858, and was thus in his 56th year. He studied at Cambridge, and was called to the Bar in 1883. He secured! his "blue" in 1878, and in that and the 'three following years played for his university, acting as captain in 1880. He also played for Marlborough and Lancashire, and took part in several test matches against Australia in 1880, 1982, 1884, 1886 and 1888. His best scores against Australia weTe 135 (at Sydney in the 1882-3 tour) and 148 at Lord's.
