Herriea (Minister for Railways) addressed a crowded meeting last night speaking on the lines of his recent utterances, the new matter being merely of local interest. A vote of thanks and confidence in l the Government was carried on the voices by a large majority, an amendment of thanks only receiving scanty support, BAY OF ISLANDS ELECTORATE. RUSSELL, Juno 17. As an outcome of Mr Vernon Reed's meeting held at Russell recently a new Reform League has been started with headquarters at Russell. Various other centres have been communicated' with, with the result that over 20 branches have been established. The name of the League is the Far North Reform League, and the area is the Bay of Islands electorate. The main abject of the League is to leave the selection of the Reform candidate in the hands of the Prime Minister.
