QENERAL ASSEMBLY OF N.Z. j SESSION 1914. i NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that it is intended to make application to the General Assembly of New Zealand at the forthcoming Sees'.on thereof for leaive to brinpr in a. Bill to be intituled "An Act to Constitute the Hokonui County." The objects of the Bill are as follows : AN ACT TO CONSTITUTE THE HOKONUI COUNTY. BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled and bv the authority of tlhe same as follows: 1. This Act ni;ay bo cited as the Hokonui County Act. 1914. 2. (1) The Hokonui County is hereby constituted and shall comprise that portion of the Southland County particular; y described in the First Schedule hereto. (2) The boundaries of the Southland County as hereby altered are described in the Second Schedule hereto. (3) The Counties Act. 1908, shall be in operation over the whole of "the Hokonui County. 3." From and after the conning into operation of this Act no local authority other than the Hokonui County Couno'l shall within the limits' of the Hokonui County exercise any jurisdiction or authority over any roads or oyer or ifl ■relation to any matter or thing in respect of which jurisdiction is conferred upon a County Council under any Act: Provided that nothing herein shall affect the power of the Governor to proclaim any portion of the said County a Borough or Town District. 4. This Act shall come into operation on the First Day of April, 1915.

FIRST SCHEDULE. EOKONUI CX)UNTY. Aid that area situated in the Otago Provincial District and Ota go and Southland Land Districts, bounded as follows: Commending on. the east bank of the Mataura Rivor at its junction with the Mimihau Stream, and proceeding in a northerly direction 'along the east bank of the Mataura River to the South boundary of the Mataura Borough; thence generally in a Westerly direction by the Western and Southern boundaries of Mataura ' Borough by the Main South Road, the Southern 'boundary of Allotments 54, 53, 52 50. 49, 48, 58, 62, Land Transfer Plan 134, Southland Registry, Lots 4 and 12, Land Transfer plan 174 of said Registry. Lots 41 and 40, . plan 175 a of sa.id Registry, and part of Lot 39, plan 175 a of sa'd Registry, to a point formed by the production of the South boundary of Lot 25, plan 176 a of said Registry; thence by a line forming the production of the said boundary and by the South boundary of Lots 25 and 24, Land Transfer plan 176 a, Lindhurst Hundred to the South Western corner of said Lot 24. plan 176 a; thence towards the west by the Western boundary of Lot 24, Northern boundary of Lot 23 and its n reduction to the Western boundary of Block 11., Lindhurst Hundred ; thence by the Western 'boundary of said Block 11., Lindhurst Hundred, to its junction with the Southern boundary of the Waiimumu Hundred; thence by the Southern boundary of the said Waiimumu Hundred to the South Western, corner of said Hundred; thence due North by the Western boundary of said Hundred to its junction with the Southern boundary of Hokonui District; thence due West by the Southern boundary of Hokonui District to tlie South Went corner of section 253 of that district ; thence due North by Western boundary of sections 253 and 267, Hokonui District, to North West corner of section 267, thence due East by Northern boundary of section 267 to the Otamita' Stream; thence Northerly a.nd Westerly by the Otamita Stream to the North Eastern corner of section 798, Hokonui District ; thence by the Otamita Stream and North Eastern boundary of said section 798 to the Western corner of section 361; thence bv la roadline forming the North Western boundary of section 361, Crown lands, and section 291, Hokonui, and by part of section 179, Hokonui District, to the South Western boundary of that section; thence by the South Western boundary of sections 179, 91, 108, 894, 92,121, 93, 28, 109, 110. 94. 27, 111, 95, 26 and 96, Hokonui District; thence by the North Western boundary or section 96 and that boundary produced to Western boundary of eenbion 24, Hokonui District; thence by the South Western boundary of section 24 and by its production across road line and by the South Western boundary of sect'on 221, Hokonui District, to the Ea6t bank of Oreti River; thence generally towards the West and North by the Wallace County to its junction with the Lake County at Humnwrk Peak; thence towards tho North by the Lake County to its junction with the Vincent County at Lorn Peak; thenoe by the Vincent County to a point in the Umbrella Mountains due East of Rocky Mount; thence towards the East by the Tuapeka and Clutha Counties to the South Eastern corner of Section 2, Block 6, Slopedown District; thence by tho South Eastern boundary of said section and S nith Western boundary of Section 3, Block 6, to the road line forming the Southern boundary of Section _ 15, Block 2, Slopedown District; thence by the said road line to tho North braiHih of th© Mimihau Stream ; thence by the said North branch of the Mimihau Stream and 1 tho Mimihau Stream to tho commencing Tx>int excepting nevertheless out of the said area, tho Boroughs of Goro and Mataura.
