POISONED WITH GAS.

The Sydney City Coroner held an inquiry on January 14 into the death of Walter Langrish, who was found dead in bed at his room at tho Enipiro Hotel, Annandale. The licensee of tho hotel stated that ho went to deceased 1 u room at about midday on January 8. H« found him lying in bod, with a pillowsap tied over his liead. A rubbor tube led from tho pillow-slip to a bracket on the wall, and tho room smelt of gas. Tho gas tap was full on, and Langrish had apparently been dead several hours. On retiring Langridj had asked for a drink of schnapps, and bad put his boots outside tho door in the usual manner. Tho police fonnd » razor in one of the deceased's pockets, and 011 both his wrists were small cut» and scratches. Medical evidence showed that death was due to carbonmon oxidf poisoning. The coroner recorded a verdict of suicide.
