CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH.
PEB UNITED PREB3 ASSOCIATION. WELLINGTON', April 24. Tho Congregational Church Conference has been .sitting in Wellington under tho presidency of Hon. George. Fowlds. Thy object of the mooting v,:i, to prepare a scheme for church extension in New Zealand. It is proposed to raise a fund of £IO,OOO during the next five years. Portion of the fund will be set apart to provide bursaries for studonts for the ministry, and the balanoe will ho used for church extension and evang-disuc work. Two contributions of .tlflf.O each have been received, and several others of £")€(> »ach are reported to bo in sight. i rom Otago, Canterbury, Auckland and Wellington were present.
