In connccetion with the Society of Engineers' squabble the courts have decided that Jones (general secretary), five trustees and four other officers were the true administrative authority and were entitled to control 800 branches, a verdict being returned against the Executive- Coimcil ; whoso term of office is duly determined by delegate, meetings. The Amalgamated Engineers' Society's Council, which was forcibly ejected from the society's headquarters, was about to begin business at New Year when a number of members broke into the building and forced the seven councillors towards the stairs.
