On T>ecember 11 last a party consisting of Major KettleweU, Captain Eckford, one native offioer, 26 sowars, 17 followers, *nd 17 baggage mules, started from Khanehzinian. » Some distance out it was attacked by robbers, Captain Eckford being shot through, the heart. The robbers were apparently only out for plunder, and made off when they had secured some of the mules belonging to the British., party.
