My deal' John,—! was very glad indeed to hear froni you, and proud to hear the day has at last come to decide whether you v, ill c;o.t a cottage or not. I hope- in i-suvidenee. you will, though you say you are doubtful on account of your bring single. If you state your c;r-.e v..> the Government inspector as good as you did to me, J. am sure he \.<>n i ret use. Dear jack, you knew long before now how fond f aio of you, but all the same if you ciu-'t get the house nothing will keen rae from going to America in the spring, as I am not going to lose all my time hoping and dreaming of you and the cottage with the roses" round the door. Three long years since we became engaged, and 1 stuck to my promise to wait until we would see how the cottage would go. 1 am as fond of you as ever, and if you fail in the house make up your mind and we will both go to America next spring. —Yours to a cinder, \,\'NE LYNCH. The inspector said he would do his best for the young woman. Some time ago, it will be remembered, the Dunshaughlin Council gave notive to all their bachelor tenants that unless they married within three months they would have to leave their cottages.
