With regard to the drowning fatality > at Indooroopilly it appears that Mrs Mander's baby girl fell into the river. The mother plunged in to her rescue, and two children of 10 and four years respectively in trying to assist her fell in. The eldest boy, aged 12, made brave but unavailing efforts at rescue. He regained the bank exhausted. The dead ' mother was found clasping the bodies of her two children in her arms. .THE MAKING OF CONFECTIONERY '• SYDNEY. April 16. If makers were compelled to nse eggs instead of margarine in the manufacture of pastry the difference in cost would be so great that every pastry manufacturer would have, to close.
