Owing to Paraguay's unsatisfactory attitude regarding compensation for outrages on Argentine ships and property the Government is sending warships and destroyers to Paraguay.
The outrages referred to are probably an outcome of the recent revolution in Paraguay, when revolutionaries seized the President (Senor Rojas) and forced him to resign. Ultimately, however, the President regained power and re-es-tablished the Government. The Argentine Republic has a pea"e strength i»the army of about 15,000 men a.-.d a war strength of about 250,000. The naval strength comprises a personnel of about 7000 men manning three battleships, four armored cruisers, two armored gunboats, two scouts, 16 tor-pedo-boat destroyers, 22 torpedo-boats, one submarine and two armored monitors. Two Dreadnoughts ar;.> to bo completed this year. The repu.bli" of Paraguay has an array of about 1500 men, but every citizen between the cges of 20 and 35 is liable for *crvhe. There is no navy.
