STATE IRONWORKS. Received January 26, 9.20 a.m. SYDNEY, Jan. 26. Cabinet has authorised the preparation of a Bill providing for the purchase or construction of State ironworks. PROTESTANT ASSOCIATION. Received January 26, 9.20 a.m. SYDNEY, Jan. 26. The Protestant Defence Association resolved against the Papal censure over books, either through the Customs or public libraries and booksellers, thus dictating to free Australians what they shall or shall not read.
Another resolution urged members to support all efforts to prohibit the manufacture and sale of all alcoholic liquors.
