The Gore public baths are rapidly being constructed, but, of course, until the remainder of the £2OO required for the installation of a heating apparatus is subscribed the heating plant will not be constructed. Of this £2OO only some £25 remains to b© collected, and the Taylor-Carrington Comedy Company has generously oome forward with an offer to give half the proceeds of a benefit performance to the baths funds. A committee of enthusiastic gentlemen has taken the matter in hand, and it is hoped that as a result of the performance, which will be given shortly, the amount required will be very substantially reduced.
