In connection with the New Year holiday train arrangements attention is directed t'o the earlier running on January 1 and 2 of the morning trains from Lumsden and Waikaka to Gore and the morning train from Switzers to Riversdale, also on January 1 of the 12.20 p.m. train from Waipahi to Heriot. ALteption is directed to an advertisement which appears in another column wit'h reference to the issue of tickets for week-end holiday excursions to Queen stown. The first issue of these tickets will be made on Saturday, January 6, and they will he obtainable on each subsequent Saturday up to March 30. The purchaser of the ticket may travel to Queenstown by any train on the day of issue and return on the following Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday, at his option. The week-end at Queenstown offers a very attractive outing, and this year the opportunity should be more largely availed of than ever.
