Fire destroyed the business portion of Narrabri West (350 miles north-west of Sydney), three hotels and seven business premises being burned. There was no water supply. Several people had narrow escapes. Tho damage is estimated as being in the vicinity of £20,000. BLAZE AT GiSBORNE. GISBORKE, Dec. 28. A fire in Gladstone Road this afternoon gutted Taylor's furniture factory (owned by Mr W. H. Clayton), burned a valuable stock of seasoned timber, caused the death of a horse and probably damaged machinery. Insurances are believed to total £IBOO.
