SCHOOL VACATIONS.

TUTURAU. The prize-giving ceremony in connection with the annual "break-up" of the Tuturan school took place on Friday, when there was a fair attendance of parents and friends of the children. Mr. John Christie (chairman of the School Committee) presided, and in a, short address congratulated the teacher and children on the excellent work done during the year. He stated that the work of the school was of a very high standard and the parents had every reason to be well satisfied. He hoped the children would all enjoy their holidays and come back with renewed energy prepared to work with their teacher and obtain even better results during the coming year. The prizes were then given out, and after an excellent luncheon provided by Mr and Mrs McKenzie a very enjoyabel afternoon was spent in games, etc. The committee desires to thank Messrs Mac Gibbon and Sons (Mataura) and R. M. McKay and Co. (Wyndham) for donations of lollies. Votes of thanks were passed to the ladies, Mr and Mrs McKenzie and the chairman. Following is the PRIZE-LIST. STANDARD VI.
