POLITICAL CAMPAIGN.

THE MATAURA SEAT. MR ANDERSON AT TUTUKAU. Mr G. J. Anderson (M.P. for Mataura) addressed his first mooting of tho campaign at the Tuturau school last night. The room was comfortably filled ami there were several ladies present. Mr J. Christie- was voted to the chair. Tho speaker, who was well received, reviewed the work of the Parliament which has just closed, criticised the methods of administration of the Government, outlined tho policy he was prepared to supj>ort and contrasted it with, that proposed by tho Government, and dealt with the land question, finance, public works and licensing. At the close of the address, which was frequently applauded, no questions were asked. On the motion of Messrs Clements and Foist or a vote of thanks and confidence was passed to the candidate. 3ir Anderson speaks to-night at "Waiivikiki, Mimihnu to-morrow, Brydono r m Friday and McNab on Saturday.

There was a large attendance at Brydone last evening when Mr John Mac Gibbon addressed tlio electors on political matters for fully an hour. A vote of thanks and confidence was passed on the motion of Mossr* John Campbell and M. Ryan. For the remainder of the week Mr Mac Gibbon's programme is as follows: Fcmdalo to-night, Waimumu Thursday, and Charlton on Friday. Next week he will commence at Morton Mains on Mon-dnv, concluding at Gorge Koad on Friday.
