The sister of General Botha (Prime Minister of South Africa), who is now in England,, states that the South African women will tremble with fear at the consequences of Lord Gladstone's reprieve of the native who was sentenced to death for an assault on a white woman. Such crimes, she said, were mora common than the English public were aware. MURDERERS REPRIEVED. Received January 28, 10.35 a.m. CAPETOWN, Jan, 27. Lord Gladstone has reprieved four Rhodesian natives who were condemned to death for murder, three for the tribal custom of killing twins.
