A rather unpleasant experience befel a picnic party from YVaniku last week (says the 'Dominion'). They loft in an oil launch for a day's outing down the harbor. Upon arrival at their destination they at once went ashore, taking with them all the good tilings provided to satisfy the inner man, and securely planted them ''n ;> of annarent safety. After spending some hour-; fishing with the usual luck of amateurs they decided to again go ashore and satisfy their hunger-craving which had come over them. Upon their arrival they hastily made for their plant, but to their horror and disgust the plant had been sprung—ale, sandv, iehes, fruit, tarts, etc., had all gone, nothing being left but empty hotims ' and a Htllo bread and butter, with a. polite note saying the beer and sandwiches wore very good, but the tarts wore delicious.
