* _ Following is Rev. D. C. Bates' summary and weather forecast: —The weather has been very warm and hazy 'everywhere and the winds generally light and variable, but strong westerlies have prevailed in Foxeaux Strait with heavy seas. The barometer has continued to rise. Present indications : are for a slowly falling barometer everywhere. Moderate to strong westerly winds are probable northwards of New Plymouth and Napier and northerly winds elsewhere. The weather will probably continue warm and hazy, but squally at times in the far South.
