TRADE WITH CANADA. BY ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH. COPYRIGHT. PER UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION. Received December 17, 9.45 a.m. MELBOURNE, Dec. 17. It has been suggested by the Canadian Government that the delegates to the Coronation should confer with the Canadian delegates on preferential trade. This has been warmly supported in Australia. The Minister for External Affairs (Mr Batchelor) states that the general question of preferential trade with" all parts of the Empire is receiving consideration. STRENUOUS POLITICS. Received December 17, 9.45 a.m. SYDNEY, Dec. 17. The Legislative Assembly rose at two o'clock this morning, having sat continuously for 35:' hours. The Public Works Estimates, involving an expenditure of £3,500,000, were passed towards the end, when members were in a state of physical exhaustion'. The application of the gag was fre r quent, Mr Wade (leader of the Opposition) being, one of the victims. Criticism almost ceased, most of the members lying on their seats. LIFE'S LITTLE THINGS. If you we're able to live just right all the time there would be little need for medicine, less need for doctors. But some little thing is constantly coming along to put us out of balance—exposure, change of diet or drinking water, irregular meals are little things that will at times upset the best of us. Nothing particular the matter, but we don't feel good. At such times the wise among us will take a few doses of Chamberlain's Tablets with certain | knowledge that they will put us right, right away.
