GORE BRASS BAND.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir,—Being of a musical turn of mind and a strong supporter of our local band I have watched its many ups and downs in the musical world this last few years, and I am sorry to say that at the present time it appears to be at a. very low ebb. Now, Mr Editor, with your permission I would like to ask ex-Sergeant Allen Hancock the following questions:— (1) Was it purely band or private business which led to the resignation of himself and the other "one or two?" (2) How many members of the band did that other "one or two" endeavor to take with them in order to cripple the band as much as possible? (3) Did not ex-Sergeant Hancock an] Co. endeavor to obtain the engagement at the skating rink to try and beat the band out of a good job?—l am, etc O! LOVELY NIGHT.
