MATAURA V. MANANUI. The Mananui and Mataura ladies' hockey clubs met yesterday afternoon on the Gore Showgrounds and played their first game of the season. Tli" home team was minus the assistance of several of their former season's players, and as a result, their ranks containing so many recruits, suffered defeat by 10 points to nil. The play of
Mataiira ladies was keen, crisp and aggressive, the performance of tlie Misses Udy (2) and Milne being above the average. -.Hie game was most 'friendly, and Mr Porter, of InvercaiV gill, gave every satisfaction as referee. After the match the visitors were enr tertained" at tea in the Coffee Palace by the Mananui ladies and a pleasant evening spent. "Tlie Mananui B team'failed to go to Mataura, and forfeited the gaime- to. the Falls team. REAMOANA V. WYNDHAM. Reamoana played at Wyndhsun yesterday in fine weather and suffered defeat bv four points to nil. The match, Reamoana B v. WyndIwri' B, was played at Gbre yesterday, when the home team won by five points to nil. INVERCARGILL MATCHES. In the senior matches played at Invercargill yesterday Rakiura (1) defeated Y.M.C.A. (nil) and Waimii (3) beat United (2). ■ • The Invercargill Girls' A (6) beat Uiiion A (nil), tlie Girls' High School (1) beat Invercargill Girls' B (nil), and Albian (1) beat Koh-i-nor (ml).
