DEATH OF MR E. G. ALLEN.
PEE UNITED PRKSS ASSOCIATION. DUNEDIN, Dec. 19. Mr E. G. Allen, ex-M.P. for Chalmers, died yesterday afternoon. Deceased first entered Parliament in 1896, and represented the constituency until last year, when he was defeated at the, econd ballot. He resided in Port Chalmers for over thirty years, and took an active interest in the welfare of the district. He was Mayor of the Borough for about eleven years, and has been chairman of the Dock Trust for nineteen years and a member of the Harbor Board since 1888. He is survived by one daughter and three sons.
