SOCIAL AT RIVERSDALE.

The annual social in connection with the Presbyterian Church Sunday School was held in the Drill Hall on Friday night last. Mr A. Murdoch, superintendent, presided, and there was a very good attendance. The report showed a roll number of 50 at the Sunday School and of ten at the Bible Class. The Sunday School teachers were Misses Clelland and Clearwater and Messrs G. Tait, J. Templeton and D. Maclntyrc, while Mrs Maclnnes and D. Murdoch had charge of the Bible Class. The chairman made a few opemng remarks, and then a very enjoyable" programme of musical items" was contributed by the Church choir and the Sunday School choir, and by Mrs Anderson and Miss Maclnness. The choir gave evidence of careful preparation and received wellmerited, appreciation from the audience. Prizes were distributed to the scholars in order of merit by Mrs Maclnnes as follows: —Class I: Dorothy Maclnnes, G Manson, B. Munro; Class II.: Roy Maclnnes, R. Templeton, L. Manson; Class III.: G. Tait, Rena .McKay, Gladys Hall; Class IV.: Alfred Hodge, lan Maclnnes, Harold Hall; Class V.: Ella Munro, Margaret Munro, Margaret McLennan. Each member of the Bible Class received a gift of a hand-somely-bound Bible, Air Murdoch remarking that he was so highly pleased with £he work of this class that it had been decided to treat each of the students equally. The following -are the names of the recipients of the Bibles: — Stanley Murdoch, Flossy Rowley, AV. McKay, jun., Ada Barber, Allan Low, Georgina McKay, Thomas Rodge, Jessie McLonnan, Alex. Tait, and Mary Templeton. Mr Thomas Anderson's prizes to the boy and the girl who brought in most recruits to the Sunday School wore won bv Richard Templeton and Margaret McLennan. Each pupil of the Sunday School and the Bible Class received a handsome text wallcard, and an almanac was presented to each of the families represented at the school. *

During the evening Revs. W. Hain, Marshall and J. Maelnnes and Mr A. McKay gave interesting addresses. At a suitable interval refreshments were abundantly dis,H>us»' by a band of willing young church workers.
