QUESTION OF SUPREMACY. « WHAT AUSTRALIA WILL DO. LONDON, July 24. Colonel Foxton (the delegate from tb© Australian Commonwealth), interviewed regarding the Imporial Defence Conference, said ho was pretty certain Australia would adopt compulsory training to the age of 18, porliaps to 21, and afterwards possibly lo a matured age. Tho latter step would depend on the experience of the senior cadet system. Ho hoped for an interchange of officers and men in tho navy. The offer of a Dreadnought or somo alternative was ninde unconditionally. Ho was not prepared to say what the alternative should bo, but" Australians desired to contribute iu kind for tho maintenance of naval supremacy irrespective of their own measures for the defence of Australia and trade routes.
