THE INDIAN MURDERER. LONDON, July 24. Dhingra, charged with the murder if Sir William Wyllio at the Imperial Institute, entered the dock nt the Old liailoy smiling. Thereupon, saluting the judge, ho exclaimed: "I am proud to lay down my humble lite for m/ country."
ANGLO-INDIANS' ADVICE. LONDON, July 21. Many Anglo-Indians advise that Dhingra's sentence bo commuted to servitude for life, as hanging him would be looked upon as martyrdom.
"THE CROAVN OF MARTYRDOM.' ! Received .Tulv 26, 0.15 a.m. i LONDON, July 25. Mr W. T. Stead (the founder of tlio 'lfoview of Reviews' and the peace crusade) advocates penal servitude for Dhingra and declares that it is bad policy to confer tho crown of martyrdom upon him. Imprisonment would be more punitive than the short, sharp shrift of the gallows.
