The following letter tias been sent to all clubs:— Sir, —X have been directed to draw your attention to the rule which makes it compulsory for every member of a first or second-grade team to insure before taking part in any' mq,tch. To date the committee have endeavored not to bo too harsh in this matter, but they feel that it in their duty and in the interests of th» players themselves that the rule should be enforced. Therefore, after June 1. any team will be disqualified who plays any momber who is not insured, and tho players concerned will also be disqualified. As the fee (2s 6d) is absurdly low, and is tho lowest charged for any fund of the kind in the Dominion, I trust tliero will be no further call to bring this matter under your notice, and that I will receive all unpaid fees by Juno 1. Tho thanks of the committee is offered to all secretaries lor the interest they are taking in the matter. — Yours respectfully, CHAS. B. INGRAM, Secretary.

COURSING. NOTES IS~HK WAV. By "Kennel." following the recent successful meeting of tlio Gore Club the officials are up to time with tlio programme I'or tlio second meeting to lie held in .lulv. The chief event is the Ladies' Bracelet of £'loo, divided as follows —Kirs I dog £4O, second dog £'2o, two dogs at £5 each, three dogs at £-1 each, and six dogs at £3. The Bracelet as divided will suit the majority of owners, as thirteen dogs will receive money. This event, is open to dogs who have not won more than £5 in any one stake. There will also he a Supplementary Stake foi dogs who are run out in the lirst and •second rounds of the Bracelet, which will give those owners who may hav" an idea that their dogs did not run their host in the Bracelet a chance to have another trial. An Open Stake tor all-aged (logs is also placed on the programme ai a nomination of C2 '.is. The club is acting wisely in reducing the Open Stake nomination Ho £2 2s, because a number'of owners who do not. nominate in Open Stakes would have done so in the past except that the nomination lias been too high and that has been the cause of so many open stakes being a failure. At a meeting of the Gore Club held last, Monday evening it was resolved to order 00 hares from .Mr H. Hull, tlio well-known hare-catcher of Peel Forest, for delivery at the end of June, so tint tlio animals will heroine aerliinatised by tlio dates of the next, meeting on Julv '2l and 22. The new president, of the Cure Club (Mr G. O'Neill) has taken office in earnest, having already sown a large quautit.ay of parsley on the pluuipton, which it is t:> be hoped will provide plenty of feed for the hares next season. "Out on Its Own" is the heading on the programme of the 1 n ,-erca rgitl Coursing Club. I quite agree that as far' as nominations are concerned I lie club is "out on its own," but Secretary Paapo and his committee have made one .'erious blunder in connection with tile Puppy Stake, consideration not being given to the fact. that, a puppy could win a Maiden Slake and be eligible to compete in tile Puppy Stake as drawn up bv the liivereargill Clulj. To show tile mistake tlial has been made Miss Olive, who divided tlio Maiden Stako at Core, and who is not now eligible to compete in the Inveveargill Maiden can still be a competitor in tlio Puppy Stake, which is verv unfair to saplings and maidens thai comprise the entries.

1/Oral dogs will tie fairly well represented at. the Jnvercargill meeting, .Messrs (). Kelly, 'lrillo, Wliitlinghair.. and O'Brien having Till" noiuiiiatie.i each in the Maiden event and Mr G. O'Neill oik' in the Puppy Stake. I understand that it is the. intention of the Jnvercargill Coursing Club owiiiK to the" large number fit' entries received to make the meeting a three days' one. They have 70 well -trained hares at the lilunipton, and out of 17 trials held (lie other day there were only two kills The club profited to the extent of I'.'l OS as a result of the trials. Given tine Heather and with the entry received the club anticipate a most successful meeting.
