A motion was put. forward that the conference pledge itself to abide by the result ol" the appeal to the Australasian Athletic i I nion, but several amendments were ! proposed nnd an agreement was j I'veutually arrived at by which the ' conference decided to call upon the : executives stationed in Christclntreh ( and Wellington to resign, the var- • ions delegates I'ledging themselves to ' gi v e alleiriance to a Council to he 1 eleried on a fresh election on the hush- of a constitution altered to meet the \ iews of the majority of the conference. The chairman of the Otago Centre t.Mr .J. IS. Calkin) and secretary (A[r iWiUett) .were iippointed a temporary
executive to carry on the nu'oirs of the Association and accept nominations for, the ne.w. .Council .within au days.; In.the transaction of general business it was resolved: .(1), .That tho next athletic, champion meeting be held at Auckland; (2) that a Selection committee consisting of live representatives, one from each centre, be appointed in future to select the Australasian chumpiouship teams; <o) that if be a recommendation to the incoming Council that the Now Zealand champion shield points be scored by first and second men only, two points being allotted to first and one to second; (4) that Wellington be headquarters of the Association; (5) to secede from the New Zealand Sports Federation.
