Purchasing of wheat during the-past few days has been upon a considerable scale. The shipment of grain to London is restricted on account of the quantity of frozen moat, wool, and tallow now being despatched. but some shippers who had engaged space for oats not being abk to obtain all their requirements of this cereal, kuv filling up with wheat. Since last report sales amounting to over 50,000 bushels of wheat have, been recorded, including 3000 bushels of Pearl at 3s Td, 15,000 bushels of Tuscan at Us 7d, 81 Oil bushels at 3rt (Ud, 8150 bushels at 3s 6(1, (5000 bushels of Tuscan and Hunter's at 3s 7d, 3100 bushels of Pearl, Tuscan and Hunter's at 3s 7d, -1800 bushels of Hunter's at 3s 7d, 3800 at 3s (ijd 5550 bushels at 3s lid.
Oats are not being offered very freely, und more could be taken by buyers, though they are not prepared to gh'e more money to induce growers to send forward larger supplies. Among the sales reported are 800 bushels of Algerians at Is 7d, L'OO .bushels of good milling Cartons at Is -Id, 500 bushels of Canadians at I Hi 3Jd, -100 bushels .of Uartons at la 3d, 180 bushels of Cartons at Is 3d, 180 bushels of Punish at Is 2d, and 150(1 bushels of Huns at Is -Jd. Oatsheaf chaff is dull of sale, and some of the new chaff being delivered is not in good condition and baa been rejected. The price is nominally CO, „nd iv sale is reported at 38i. Tie* price of butter has been reduced Ld per Hi all round.
