In a case preferred by the Wellington section of the Federated Seamen's, Union against the Union Steam Ship Company for the enforcement; of an award a reserved judgment was delivered by Dr. McAithur to-day. Tho statement, set. out that William Liudquist, A.15., was employed as a day man on the Maori and was required te work lime hums per day on si\ working days and :o perform certain cork on Sunday. The. company refused lo pay overtime for the execs* of rigln hours worked on the six days aforesaid and for the time worked on Sunday. Tho company contended thai no overtime was paid for work while the ship was at sea between the hours of 0 a.m. and o p.m., and that, tho man en mi un.hr tins rule.
