VOLUNTEERS' COMPETITION.
v I'tu unl'mi. rnnss association. WELLINGTON, March 16. Nu. J. Company (Christchurch) Engineer \ ulunteers have won the 1906-9 -hield given by tho Government for competition by engineer volunteer companies in the Dominion. Following were the total marks gained by the four competing companies, the powsiblo being <00:—No. 1, Christchurch, 597; No. 2, Dmiedm, 55T; No. 5, Wellington, 538; No. y. Auckland, 530.
