* SCHOOL TEACHERS' PROTEST. l'Elt ITNITHn !'lil!SS ASSOCIATION. WELLINGTON, March lii. The Public School Headmasters' Association has adoDted a report protesting against the uses to which primary schools have been put for display purposes. Tlio report submitted that, tin teachers have tiuen overworked by extra tasks which have no proper place in the light education of youth and sonn of the duties imposed on the teacher: on the occasions of the demonstration: are repugnant. "As a practical out como of th ;l association's deliberation:it is hoped." concludes tlio report, "that local bodies, the Government Education Boards and entertaining committees on public occasions will ceaso making demands as a mere matter of course on tlio pupils of the -public schools. Teachers should bo tree tc withhold their assistance, according at'no occasion commends itself to them or not. No woman should be expected at any time to undertake school dutio: outside school grounds by way of spectacular displays'."
