GORE RIFLES.
The (Joro Hillcs yesterday afternoon hold their annual muater parade, undcr Lieut.-Colonel \ Sinythe, 0.0. Otago District. Lieutenant-Colonel lio.vne, ().('. No. -J Jiiittalion, was also present. The parade state was us follows:—Captain I'raser, Liout. Mianlcs, «)ii(. color-sergeant, litre sergeants, and yy rank and tile. [ The Company marched from tho Oitdiellows' Hal! as un advance party, throwing out. scouts 1,0 search the country from the hall to the ground .ippointed , for the exereiso on Air Ailkcu's farm, East CJore. Here Ihe corps were exercised in liold work, with blank and hall cartridge. At the conclusion of tin- parade Lieut.-Col-onel Sniythe thanked the men lor their attendance, at the same time pointing out a few of the mistakes that had been made, which ho stated could be remedied only by the carrying out of more practical exercises in the iield. Ue impressed upon the men the necessity of always acting as though operating against a real enemy. The Company afterwards marched back 1,, the hall, where they were dismissed.
