DEATH UNDER CHLOROFORAI AT IN VELICARGILL. INVERCARGILL, June !>. A death under chloroform occurred yesterday morning iu the surgery of Air A. E. Smith, dentist. Arnold Kiugslaud, aged 17 years, son of Air Jas. Kingslanil. had been suffering from a painful tooth, and it was deemed advisable by Dr Hogg to place the sufferer under an anaesthetic .ill order to extract the tooth. Arrangements were made to carry out the operation yesterday morning. The extraction was o/focted by Air Smith, and tins patient recovered Jrom the influence of tho chloroform—(he anaesthetic administered. Not long afterwards, however, ho collopsed, and death ensued. At, the time Drs Hogg, Ewart and Hunter were present.
